Approaches
The brute force approach stores the meteor information for every city. For a path query, we walk from one endpoint to the other and sum the current contribution of every visited city. This is correct because the tree has exactly one simple path between any two cities.
The problem is the cost of the walk. A path in a tree can contain all n cities, so one query can take O(n) time. With q up to 200000, the worst case becomes O(nq), which is too large.
The observation that each meteor contribution can be separated into a fixed part and a time dependent part changes the problem. Instead of storing changing values, we only need to support two types of updates:
A city receives a fixed value val + t0.
A city receives an increment of 1 in the count of active meteors.
