The constraints allow up to 100000 nodes and 100000 queries. A naive approach that walks every node on each queried path is immediately too slow, since a single path can be linear in size and repeated over many queries leads to quadratic behavior. Approaches
A direct simulation maintains an array of node values and, for every query, walks along the path between two nodes and either adds x to each node or recomputes the xor of all values on that path. This is straightforward correctness-wise. The problem is performance: in a chain-like tree, each operation can cost O(n), leading to O(nq), which is far beyond limits.
The key observation is that the tree structure itself is not the main difficulty, but rather that we need fast path operations. Once we reduce tree paths into segments of a base array using Heavy-Light Decomposition, every path becomes a small number of contiguous intervals. This converts the problem into supporting two operations on an array: range add and range xor query over arbitrary segments.
At this point, a segment tree with lazy propagation appears natural. Range addition is standard, but the difficulty is maintaining xor under range addition. Unlike sum, xor is not linear with respect to addition, so we cannot update a segment’s xor using only its previous xor and segment length. This is where the segment tree must actually store the full values implicitly at leaves, and lazy propagation must ensure correctness by applying updates in a way that preserves exact values when needed.
The workable idea is to maintain a segment tree over the HLD base array, where each node represents the xor of its segment and carries a lazy tag for pending additions. When a query or update requires accessing a segment, the lazy value is pushed down so that children reflect correct values. Since each update is a pure additive shift applied to actual values, pushing the update down guarantees correctness of stored leaf values, and thus correctness of xor recomputation.
This leads to the standard tradeoff: updates are handled lazily and only materialized when needed, while queries rely on partially propagated segments but still remain correct because the tree structure ensures consistency of applied operations.

Algorithm Walkthrough
We first convert the tree into a structure where any path can be expressed as a collection of contiguous segments. This is done using Heavy-Light Decomposition, which assigns each node a position in a base array.
