Even with only 180 total nuggets, the number of ways to partition them into groups is exponential in 180, and each group itself has multiple internal compositions. This makes the brute force infeasible beyond very small instances.

The key insight is that we do not actually care about the identities of cubes beyond one critical condition: at least one cube must exceed selling price, and all cubes must satisfy the minimum mass constraint. This allows us to decouple the structure into two phases: first we decide how many cubes exist implicitly via allocation, and then we evaluate feasibility through a bounded knapsack-like dynamic programming over total used nuggets.

Algorithm Walkthrough

We model the system using a DP over how many nuggets of each type have been used. For each state, we track the maximum total gold mass we can achieve.

  1. Initialize a three-dimensional DP array where dp[i][j][k] represents the maximum total gold mass using i nuggets of type A, j of type B, and k of type C. We start with dp[0][0][0] = 0 because using nothing yields zero mass.
  2. Iterate over all states in increasing order of i, j, k. At each state, we try adding one more nugget of each type if available. This builds all reachable combinations under the constraints P1, P2, P3.
  3. For every transition, we update the new state by adding the corresponding nugget weight. This ensures dp always stores the best achievable mass for that exact combination of counts.
  4. After filling the DP, we interpret each reachable state as a potential way to distribute nuggets across cubes implicitly. For each state, we compute whether its total mass can be partitioned into valid cubes where each cube has at least 100 mg.
  5. Among all valid states, we compute the maximum profit, defined as total value of gold minus cube selling cost times number of cubes implied by the partition. Since at least one cube must be profitable, we ensure we consider partitions that allow at least one segment exceeding V euros.
  6. The answer is the maximum profit over all feasible DP states.

Why it works comes from the fact that every valid configuration of cubes corresponds to some allocation of nuggets, and every allocation is represented exactly once in the DP. The DP does not lose information about feasibility because it preserves exact counts of each nugget type. Any valid partition into cubes is only a reordering of the same multiset, so checking feasibility at the allocation level is sufficient to ensure correctness.

The cost is simply number of cubes assumed equal to total number of nuggets used times V, since each nugget contributes to a cube in this simplified model.

Edge Cases

A corner case appears when the total available nuggets barely reach 100 mg using only low-value nuggets. In that situation, the DP still produces a valid state but profit remains zero because value does not exceed cost.

For a case like A = 1, B = 1, C = 1 with P1 + P2 + P3 = 100, the DP fills up to mass 100, but value is exactly 500 cents. If cost is also 500 cents or higher, the best answer becomes zero.
