The cost of a walk is the sum of edge weights, and if an edge is traversed multiple times, its weight is counted multiple times.
The core difficulty is that the process is not a simple simple random walk on a tree. It is a deterministic rule combined with randomness, and it creates a structure that depends heavily on the exploration history. Since the tree can be large and there are many queries, we cannot simulate this process per query.

Algorithm Walkthrough
We fix an arbitrary root, say node 1, and preprocess the tree with standard LCA machinery and depth information. We also compute a DFS order and parent relationships.
We then reinterpret the expected cost in terms of contributions of edges depending on whether they are used in the “forward exploration phase” before hitting t, and whether they are reused during backtracking.
We compute a base structure: for any directed edge from parent to child, we define the expected number of times it is traversed in a full exploration from a starting node without stopping. This value is constant for all queries and can be derived from subtree sizes, since in a DFS-like exploration each edge is crossed twice except for structural constraints at leaves.
We then introduce the query dependency. For a fixed query (s, t), the only deviation from full exploration is that the traversal stops once t is first reached. This means that everything inside the subtree “after” reaching t in the DFS exploration is not visited, and backtracking above the LCA of visited structure is truncated.
To compute the expected cost, we express it as the full DFS traversal cost from s minus the expected contribution of the part of the exploration that lies strictly after hitting t. This can be localized using LCA and subtree sizes.
We precompute, for every node, its distance-weight contribution to its subtree and also maintain prefix structures that allow us to answer “sum of weights in subtree excluding a certain path” queries.
