Any number ≥ 2 shrinks when square-rooted, and after repeated applications it quickly becomes 1 and then stays 1 forever under sqrt. On the other hand, squaring increases values, but even then, repeated square-root operations bring large values back down rapidly. This suggests using a segment tree with lazy propagation, but with a twist: we do not propagate operations blindly.
